Damask Take Out Box How To

I decided to post a little "how to" on making these damask chinese take out boxes. I figured if it took me hours to figure out a few tricks, why not share them with others? First you will need white chinese take out boxes, damask packaging tape, scissors, exacto knife and lots of patience!


First pull the side flaps in and hold them with the wire handle.


Next, find the middle of one side of the box and carefully and slowly apply the tape to one side. Push the air bubbles as you go and be sure to tape it straight down the middle!

Carefully tape around the bottom of the box and up the other side. It's best to go slow and rub the tape with your finger to get rid of any and all air bubbles.

Next, cut off the tape an inch or so longer than you need it.

Finally, use an exacto knife to cut off the extra tape around the tabs and be sure to cut the slit again!

I used Etsy seller SpecialTags to help me create the tags for my take out boxes. I created the design in Power Point and she printed and cut all 200 tags for me and added the yellow ribbon. Here is our final product!
